Abstract

The stability of any system depends on the survival and stability of its constituents. Environmental protection as a development platform, which guarantee the stability. Evaluation of ecological capability is one of the essential requirements in planning and management of land and the main prerequisite for achieving sustainable development is the environmental capability for development based on different types of land uses and activities. The aim of this study was to assess the ecological sustainability of animal habitats in the catchment area of Babylon is using Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) and evaluation of ecological served in GIS environment and utilizing the Nrm‌Afzar‌ Expert Choice. Whereas, in the AHP process, the study area is classified into four classes (classes). In this section we found that the floor of this basin is too weak for animal habitat. In this section it was found that there is no very poor floor for the habitat of the basin. Overall, the results of the present study showed that the Makhdoom Ecological Power Model is the decision support and the Hierarchical Analysis Process (AHP) method, considering the environmental conditions, is a suitable model for assessing the ecological potential of animal habitats in Babol Rood Watershed.
