Urban agriculture with public participation approach (Case study: Sayyed Jamaleddin Asadabadi's campus).

Abstract

Urban Agriculture Park as one of executive ideas are applicable to new type of parks in the city development. In addition to bring nature to urban spaces and create recreational space, a kind of social relationships and the economy will experience by citizens. Asadabad city is one of the cities in the Hamadan province that suffers from a lack of green and various space. So design and implementation of various spaces with the definition of new applications in this town is strongly felt. For this purpose, the idea of urban agricultural park was proposed. Given that public participation and training to learn about planting and harvesting will be the most important elements in this plan we decided to select space western area of sayyed jamaleddin Asadabadi University. By converting these lands to agricultural park, provide place for a practical course for agricultural students. Also, training agricultural subjects to the people, interaction between Academic community and people in this park will be made. So, after the definition of urban agriculture, “community garden" as a model of urban agriculture, was selected for implementation. By studying successful examples of the community garden in the world, physical plan and land use plans be prepared. Finally, with developing aims for designing and organizing, these studies are made in form of a strategic plan.
