Abstract

Climate change is an important problem in the world economy. This phenomenon can have an important impact on Iranian economic growth. Therefore, the aim of this study is to examine the impact of climate variables on income level and income growth in Iran. For this purpose, the panel data of 31 provinces on during 1379-1393 (2000-2014) is used. The results of the study show the decrease of precipitation and the increase of temperature cause to reduce national income level. Also, spatial and seasonal fluctuations of precipitation can reduce economic growth. Climate change is an important problem in the world economy.
