This study implemens the OGP guideline to improve the HSE status of petrochemical contractors. In order to investigate the research objectives, five petrochemical contractor companies, under contract with Aryassoul Petrochemical Company, was selected. The companies surveyed in a one-year period were reviewed by conducting 2-month periodic audits in accordance with the OGP checklist and suggested solutions for improvement. After that, the suggested solutions proposed to them, where applying these standards could result in a significant degree of safety and health. For example, the Zarrin Kangan Technical Engineering Company’HSE rank has been improved from 41.89 in the initial phase of the survey to 92.01 at the end of the project, which has the best performance in applying safety and health indicators. Zarin Kangan services companies with 88.62, Senna Andisheh with 87.33 points, Petroturbin with 85.40, and Pars Lian Tabarab with 84.70 are second to fifth ranks respectively. In this study, we observed that OGP standards have had a significant impact on the safety and environmental health of contracting companies. We also observed that the highest performance was observed in compliance with HSE standards by contracting companies in the phase after the initial audit.
