Abstract

In this study, the spatial effects of agricultural development on CO2 emissions using spatial panel data of Iranian provinces and the Kuznets Environmental Curve are estimated and analyzed. The results show that the spatial pollutant overflows of CO2 can explain the CO2 emissions of the provinces. The shape of the agricultural Kuznets Curve for CO2 follows inverse U. Now Iranian provinces are on the ascending part of the Kuznets Environmental Curve and are not on the threshold of this curve. The Absolute of the coefficient of the squared of the logarithm of GDP is less than the Absolute of the coefficient of the logarithm of the squared of GDP. Also, the results show the positive effect of energy consumption, population, and urbanization on pollution emissions. In this study, the spatial effects of agricultural development on CO2 emissions using spatial panel data of Iranian provinces and the Kuznets Environmental Curve are estimated and analyzed.
