Abstract

Today, protective products and their compounds, such as Personal Care Products (PCP), are a new group of environmental pollutants that contains potentially harmful compounds such as parabens. Parabens (PBs) a group of chemicals Compounds that existence in a wide range of cosmetics, hygiene, pharmaceuticals and some foods. The widespread use of parabens in the world has led to their distribution and spread throughout the environment, such as water, soil, air and living organisms. These compounds due to having negative effects on living organisms, such as carcinogenic potential and estrogenic activity, have been considered in recent decades. Due to high production and consumption, low degree of systemic toxicity and lipophilic properties, these materials can enter to the environment and accumulate at different levels of the food chain, and consequently cause negative effects on plant and animal organisms., Therefore, considering importance of these compounds, the evaluation of properties, effects and their fate in the environment is very important. Thus, the present study investigates the presence of parabens in the environment, hazards and their fate.
